Wedding Dresses and more at Marie Crawford’s Bridal in Frederick, MD

Marie Crawford's Bridal in Frederick MarylandMarie Crawford’s Bridal has an interesting history that goes back more than 20 years. This business who specializes in wedding dresses in Frederick, Maryland, is an off shoot of its parent company, Elite Elegant Events, LLC. Her gracious favor for a future sister-in-law brought her so much gratification that she continued doing small favors for friends and other relatives. Finally, Marie planned her own nuptials and celebration. Her new hubby suggested that her success warranted her expertise to become a business woman. That’s how it all began and Elite Elegant Events, LLC was born.

After some time in her event planning business, Marie Crawford realized she was missing an essential element of each event: she was missing the offering of appropriate apparel for attending each soiree. Her vision of dressing the event goers included weddings, military balls, and Inaugural Balls, proms, and all formal and black tie events where affordable couture apparel was needed.

Then Marie Crawford’s Bridal began serving the Washington DC area and nearby states of Virginia and Pennsylvania from her current location at 925D Fingerboard Road, Frederick, Maryland 21704. Her five-year old bridal business is certainly the talk of the town and her services are extraordinary.

“We recently started the Glam Squad,” Mrs. Crawford states with pride. “We come with your dress…makeup artist…and a hairstylist. It is a service provided not only for our brides, but for any bride in the area. You do not have to be (our) customer. It is a service we offer and there is a fee. We can also include this for the bridesmaids…whatever you want.”

No matter what you need for your wedding party, Marie Crawford’s Bridal is there to save the day. In her shop, all women are welcomed with open arms and true professional help. The website states the hours of operation and notes that you can be accommodated on your schedule. Go to www.mariecrawfordsbridal.com for all the correct information. You can call for an appointment at 301-712-9179.

Reynolds Treasures – Penny’s passion is people

Penny Reynolds Wedding OfficiantPenny Reynolds grew up in Florida, joined the military and landed in South Carolina with a job offer. After moving around with the military, settling down in South Carolina seemed like a good idea. How did the ministry play into her passion for people?

“After seeing all the hardships (which really opened my eyes), I decided I just wanted to be more involved with people,” Penny’s passion shows through her tone of voice. This sincerity and honestly is the seal to her passion. With her warmth and joy, she makes the perfect wedding officiant and minister. These are the reasons why her intimate and personalized ceremonies are sought after all around South Carolina.

So how did Penny Reynolds name her business? Penny puts it this way: “Treasure every moment!” Hence between using her last name and this tag line, she named her company: Reynolds Treasures.

Knowing that bringing her passion to weddings was her calling, Penny decided to upgrade her status from wedding officiant to also include her certification as an ordained minister. This allows her to perform legal and non-denominational services to couples who want to marry and who may not be affiliated with any particular church. Even if a couple does attend a particular church, often they are required by that church to take weeks of marriage counseling. Since that is not a law, some couples prefer to skip the counseling and have Penny perform the wedding ceremony.

Penny’s passion for people means she is sincerely interested in her couples and their love. She does everything in her power to show the couples’ love for one another to the guests in how she presents her ceremony. “After all the arrangements for the wedding are made, they come to me”, Penny says and she then ties “… it all together”…for them.

Penny stays busy with a schedule of weddings, elopements and commitment ceremonies. Her face is aglow with the joy she finds in her calling and others feel that joy as well. She performs weddings that might not be performed in a church because of different denominations of bride and groom. She performs commitment ceremonies in same sex circumstances that bring delight to the happy couple. The ceremonies are all beautifully planned and executed.

Penny listens to her couples as she gets to know them. If they want advice about their venue, she is happy to help them decide. Being so close to the beach and having a beach wedding appeals to many couples. In the summer, the beach is not as friendly to the guests as “…the big oaks in the park that create such wonderful shade for the guests who are seated about 15-30 minutes before the ceremony,” she adds to the venue discussion with those couples.

Penny Reynolds loves working with the each couple and helping them to have a wonderful day from choosing their location to seeing the smile on the groom’s face when he sees his bride walk toward him. Penny says their passion in saying the vows is so full of tenderness, they often have to regain their composure and begin again. This is the passion that fills the ceremony.

With the right ceremony and proper garb for it, Penny travels and performs ceremonies in other states as well as South Carolina. “ I am able to travel to any state…there would be a travel fee depending on the location…every time someone has a new location, I get excited about trying someplace new!” The passion continues to show through this lady’s being as she “treasures every moment.”

Make the trek to Wauwatosa and visit Kay Bridal Shop

Kay Bridal ShopIf ever you had a time when you need to be helped in finding a dress, planning for your wedding gown is that time.  Lisa Fandazzo-Clark, owner of Kay Bridal Shop in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin makes it her goal to help each girl’s dream of being a princess on her wedding day come true.

Lisa and husband, Ben Clark bought the business in 2006.  They are the third owners and Lisa bought her gown from the second owner of this great shop in the friendly neighborhood of “Tosa” at 7237 W. North Ave.  Wauwatosa is a smaller city and a neighbor of Milwaukee.  The shop was originally opened in 1957 and has made many brides happy.

Being aware of how much stress a bride goes through, Lisa and her staff have prepared a portfolio for stress free browsing.  After you choose the styles you like, the bridal consultant will pull those gowns and set you up in a fitting room to try them on.  This makes your appointment so much more manageable. Trying to look through the racks while other brides and family plus staff are looking, is impossible. The portfolio has certainly made the process simple and indeed easier.

Kay Bridal Shop carries Liz Fields, anjolique, Eden, and Blue-enzoani for the brides.  The bridesmaids are also given a big choice and so are the mothers of the brides.  With delightful collections of gowns from classic, contemporary and trendy, the prices are anywhere from $350 to $1900.  Liz feels you don’t have to spend many thousands on your wedding gown to be beautiful. The shop also sells some samples and discontinued gowns off the rack.

There is one very impressive review from a young woman, Loni T, who drove from Chicago.  She shared it on Yelp.  “… The girl gave us the book to go through and tag pictures of gowns that we liked, so she would pull them to try.  I tagged at least 10 (I wasn’t that prepared, I really had no idea what I was looking for).  The girl pulled all of them and put me in a room and helped me in and out of the dresses.  The dresses are nothing short of beautiful, gorgeous and amazing!  I found a lot that I really liked, and they fit well.  They also tell you that you can take something you like from one dress and combine it with another dress so you can almost make your very own dress!  The owner Lisa was there and she chatted with us….”

Sarah wrote a review for Google:  “Bought my wedding dress at Kay today. The ladies were very nice and helpful. The dress selection was great and the prices too! Would definitely recommend Kay Bridal!”

June was disappointed with the customer service and wrote this for Google: “when we arrived at this shop the door was locked the manager was sitting inside and wouldn’t move. her assistant came to the door and unlocked it for us. We asked if they were closed or not and they said no so we said we just came to look at dresses not to try any on. The manager repeatedly told us that we couldn’t just look since there was only 30 min left. i was very unimpressed with the customer service that was coming from the manager herself.”

Appointments are made at Kay Bridal Shop for a reason.  The staff is able to give the best customer service during a scheduled appointment and most brides are aware of this. Email for your appointment at contact@kaybridal.com or phone 414-773-9117.

Kay Bridal Shop carries an A rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Plus they helped assemble my entire bridal look with jewelry and my head piece. I 100% agree with other reviews that should you be your first and last stop as a bride. They will not disappoint and the dress of your dreams is here! They were also fantastic outfitting my entire bridal party as well as our parents. Thank you Jenna, Annette and Fungi!”

In all fairness, even A+ rated businesses encounter a tough situation now and then.  Although the Better Business Bureau shows no complaints about Simply Elegant Bridal.

Stephi wrote:  “No room. I contacted Simply Elegant approximately 3 days in advance to set up an appointment. I received an initial response offering different appointment times but nothing else – no confirming response, no e-mail, no call – nothing. I called to confirm and they couldn’t fit me in because they failed to add me to the calendar. Will not be patronizing a store which fails to make up for the mistakes of their employees.”

During this conflicting experience, Annette and her staff made a special appointment and catered to the bride-to-be to soothe her.  Annette stated, “I try to treat my customers the way I like to be treated.”  By trying to solve this problem immediately, Annette said, “…making things better allows me to sleep at night….”
